cool TED video

so today in john's class we watched a video on TED and the nifty multi-touch screen. and you know what.....mr john was right......this video really did change my life. after watching this video a couple of times today i realized how fast technology is moving. it wasnt even that long ago that we were introduced to computers. and now everything around us is becoming more and more in sync with technology, some of which we don't even realize. it almost scares me to try and think about what they could possibly come up with next..............

swim meet prequal

so tomorrow is the first swim meet of the season where the age-old battle of emily vs. angela (or as i like to see it, good vs. evil) will once again redeem itself. this week's event is the 100 fly where angela will fight to redeem her title, while emily stuggles to keep it from her........

What's New In My Life

So this is my first blog using bloggr and I am going to start with some new sites and stuff I recently experienced. Oooooooook so yesterday I decided to go to some of the sites Mr. John had up on the syllabus (wow, have Mr. John and syllabus ever been used in the same sentence before??) which included http://www.flickr.com/ and http://www.bloglines.com/. Ok so the first one I went to was Flickr and this was actually a pretty cool place image hosting and sharing pictures. I've been to places like photobucket before, and they were cool and all, but flickr is the cooliest place. There is so many different things to do like add pictures to professionally designed layouts, then print them out straight from the flickr stream. It usues tagging which I love! Another thing that I really liked about is was it's almost like your own profile. You have your icon up there and have your pictures, plus a description of the pictures. If you haven't been there yet, go check it out!!
Ok so bloglines was another really cool site I checked out. So I know everyone goes to a million different sites a day for news or weather like cnn and stuff like that. Well a lot of these news sites broadcast their information to RSS feeds. So bloglines runs all the software needed and collects the feeds from all the news sites and delivers the content you want. In a nutshell, you can look at all the news articles you want on one site. Prety cool huh? In my feeds I have the joke of the day, usa swimming news, weather, and all sorts of articles and other fun stuff on one little website so it saves me a bunch of time not having to go to 50 million websites a day!
Another thing I learned how to do was photoshop!! yeh, not really. we downloaded it the other day and I haven't really used it before so I'm still pretty clueless about how everything works.
